CleanWake®

The Clean Wake concept improves the handling and performance of planing hulls, in particular:

• Sea-keeping
• Dynamic stability
• Helm precision
• Lower hop speed and quicker planing
• Fuel economy
• Roll damping at rest

The original idea of Jean-Claude Chauveau was developed by O. Petit et N. Berthelot, in collaboration with Espen Oeino.

After design and realisation of 1.5m models, two 5.5 m runabout were built, one classical and one with the Clean Wake hull, to validate the observations.

We ran a test & trial campaign on these runabouts, to improve the geometry, to draft calculations tools and direct future developments.
